Looking for

Customer Support Engineer

Are you a technically driven problem solver with a passion for customer support? Do you enjoy troubleshooting complex automation systems while working closely with international customers and colleagues? We are looking for a Customer Support Engineer. In this role, you will become an important member of our international Service & Support team, providing 24/7 first- and second-line technical support for our automation solutions within the printing and intralogistics industries.

Your Mission:
As a Customer Support Engineer, you are the primary technical contact for our international customers, with a strong focus on the German market while also supporting customers in other regions when required. This is a dynamic role with approximately 70% office-based work and 30% travel. From the office, you provide first- and second-line technical support via phone, email and remote access tools, helping customers resolve operational and technical issues related to EAE automation systems. As part of the Service & Support team, you also occasionally participate in the 24/7 support rotation, ensuring customers receive assistance outside regular business hours.
You diagnose and troubleshoot issues involving automation systems, PLC controls, software and system performance, prioritize incoming support requests and escalate complex issues to our Software and Engineering teams when necessary.
You work closely with Service Engineers, Software Engineers, Project Managers and other Customer Support Engineers to coordinate follow-up actions, share technical knowledge and ensure timely resolution of customer issues.
Approximately 30% of your time is spent travelling to customer sites for commissioning support, troubleshooting, maintenance activities, system optimization and technical assistance when issues cannot be resolved remotely. Travel is mainly within Germany, with occasional assignments in other European countries and, in some cases, worldwide. Depending on the project, trips may range in their length.
You build strong customer relationships through professional communication, identify recurring issues and contribute to continuous service improvements. In addition, you accurately document support activities, maintain technical documentation and knowledge base articles, and stay up to date with developments in industrial automation, PLC systems and printing press controls.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor's degree or vocational qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical customer support, service engineering or automation engineering within the printing industry.
  • Experience with troubleshooting industrial automation systems.
  • Good understanding of PLC-controlled systems (Siemens TIA Portal or similar platforms is preferred).
  • Native German speaker with a good command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 30% for customer visits within Germany and internationally.
  • Willingness to occasionally participate in a 24/7 support rotation.

What does EAE Solutions offer you?

  • A competitive salary based on your knowledge and experience
  • Participation in a pension scheme, travel allowance, and the option to join a bicycle plan
  • 25 vacation days, plus 1 additional holiday, with the possibility to purchase extra days
  • Two additional paid coffee breaks
  • Participation in our shared lunch plan
  • Working in an international environment with engaged colleagues
  • Plenty of room for personal growth, initiative, and innovation
And of course, enjoyable Friday drinks and social gatherings in our shared living room.
